Nine-year-old Oskar Schell (Horn) isn't what you'd describe as an ordinary schoolboy. A keen tambourine player, practising vegan and self-proclaimed pacifist, he is something of a curious and sensitive child. Oskar's pre-adolescent world is flipped on its head one fateful day in New York City, when his father (Hanks) is killed in the 9/11 attacks. While grieving, Oskar discovers a key that belonged to his father, and sets off on an extraordinary adventure across the city in search of the corresponding lock.
Based on the 2005 novel of the same name by Jonathan Safran Foer, EXTREMELY LOUD AND INCREDIBLY CLOSE is a touching drama adapted by three-time Oscar nominee Stephen Daldry (THE READER) and starring Best Actress winner Sandra Bullock (THE BLIND SIDE) as Oskar's fretful mother.
