This is an absolute must for any fan of German-born author W.G. Sebald and his visceral, abstract and wonderful work.
But it is also a perfect entry-level piece for anyone unfamiliar with this underrated author who has been feted by many and has borne comparison to dystopian greats such as Ballard.
Capturing the mood perfectly, the film, in beautiful monochrome, leads us on the meandering walk undertaken by Sebald himself in Suffolk in 1992, which he then retraced for his superbly ethereal book The Rings of Saturn.
The screening will be followed by a Q&A with co-producer Gareth Evans.
