Late 2007: in the calm before the storm of the worst financial crisis since the Great Depression, an investment bank is closing ranks and trimming the fat.

One of the senior traders shown the door, risk management number-cruncher Eric Dale (Tucci), is about to leave his mark on the company in explosive fashion.

After clearing his desk Eric hands a USB stick filled with sensitive data and unfinished business to a promising young buck named Peter Sullivan (Quinto, Heroes) who has managed to avoid the chop.
