East London Dance & Birkbeck present: Dance Scenes

There’s nothing like an entertaining dance scene, and while musicals always have lots, we promise to show you other types of movies and short films with memorable numbers. Over the years, certain dance scenes have made history, from HAIRSPRAY, SINGIN' IN THE RAIN and NAPOLEON DYNAMITE to BLACK SWAN, PAS DE DEUX and FLASHDANCE.
For our next event, we are delighted to premiere Movies on Merce. East London Dance have commissioned five talented artists to produce short films inspired by the legendary Merce Cunningham. These films have already gone on to win awards and will now forever be part of the Cunningham archive. Dance Scenes on Sunday will present iconic clips and more with a mash-up of old and new, from Hollywood to here in London.
From the colourful to the iconic, breathtaking skills to urban grooves: grab a seat and some popcorn and let Dance Scenes take you on a magical dance journey in film - the perfect way to rid those Sunday blues.
